Mapview -

  • Overview: This generally positively reviewed app enables the field sales team with the ability to map their customers, plan their site visits, log activity and to be more organized. This app is only available on iOS, and so reviews are focused on that platform. Mapview maps the addresses in your Apple contacts, but does not integrate with a CRM. This app is built by an IT consulting firm, The Casey Group. The routing feature is positively reviewed.

  • Reference Customers: None Disclosed

  • Potential Issues: Reviews report the app crashing. Some reports of difficulty with getting help and customer service, but other customers report very positive customer service experiences.

Badger Maps -

  • Overview: This app is focused on B2B field sales teams to map customers, plan routes, track customer follow ups, and collect data from the field. It connects to many CRM systems and there are native apps on iOS and Android. This app is positively reviewed and has high numbers of reviews across different ratings platforms and notable reviews highlighting its focus on mobile outside sales reps on the Apple App Store here.

In addition to their app for B2B sales reps, Badger also has a territory management suite that includes territory alignment (determining what zip codes should be in which sales rep’s territories), and lead routing (sending new leads to the right reps in real time).

  • Potential Issues: There were complaints that the HubSpot Connector was only one-way - meaning it can only send data to HubSpot, but doesn’t receive changes. While the company responded that now it’s been upgraded to a 2-Way integration, we can’t verify this discrepancy or test the quality of the integration as we don’t have HubSpot. We recommend, as always, that you do a trial with the systems, such as CRMs fully integrated and using the mobile devices your team uses in the field, before making a purchase.

Overall, this is a leading app in the B2B category and should be one of the apps you trial for your team.

Routzy Smart Service -

  • Overview: Routzy is one app that is part of the Smart Service Suite which consists of: Routzy is a mobile CRM and contact management system for field sales and field services, Smart Service is a job scheduling software, and iFleet helps manage your service team in the field. Routzy helps reps track deals, prospects, and customers through the sales cycle. They help reps give presentations in the field and draw up comprehensive quotes for customers in Real-Time. Schedule estimates and sales calls to dispatch to your team. Automatically generate activity reports to understand what is going on in the field. Streamline data acquisition from the field and use digital forms with e-signatures to minimize paperwork and access what you need when you need it. Track your customer relationships with the follow up tracker.

  • Reference Customers:  None Listed

  • Potential Issues: There were some complaints about the structure of the databases being unfriendly to work with. Also complaints about the database losing data and the sync with quickbooks causing issues. These complaints may be only relevant if you are using quickbooks desktop version, while if you are using quickbooks online you would be fine.

There are complaints that to get certain things to work, you have to pay for customer support to set up custom things. Some people also weren’t happy with the ongoing fees for support and updates. There have been complaints about their integrations with other software. Many of the complaints seem to be around specific uses of the software, so our advice on this app, like all of them, is to try before you buy in a live environment with all your data, even if you have to buy it month to month to do that.

Tourmanager24

  • Overview: Built for use exclusively with Salesforce (Tourmanager is made by a Salesforce Consulting Company named Cloud Consulting Group), Tourmanager24 enables you to display accounts, contacts, and leads on a map. You can filter and run proximity searches on the data. You can also build routes, all for a low price.

  • Reference Customers: HAWE Hydraulik (case study here), Praxiklinik am Rosengarten (case study here), Vertriebsservice für Vermögensberatung (case study here), FarmChamps (case study here), Heidelberg Engineering (case study here), CORPUS SIREO (case study here),

  • Potential Issues: There are comments that the product is not scalable enough for group deployment needs, but that is relative to your current size and needs. If you are a large organization, you will want to verify that this will work at your scale, perhaps by buying monthly at first. There are reports of difficulty with data management and imports and exports of data. There are criticisms around the usability on the mobile device, so if your reps will be using this in the field on your mobile devices, you’ll want to test that specifically. Reported challenges with integration, so like always, you’ll want to do a trial that includes integrating to your environment.

Map My Customers

  • Overview: This app enables field teams to map their customers, plan and schedule routes, view heat maps of high-performing areas, build reports, connect to CRM systems to visualize the CRM data on a map, track customer follow-ups, and collect data from the field. There are native apps on iOS and Android, and it works in the browser too. They offer pilots of their app to individuals and teams.

  • Reference Customers: McCarthy & Sons (case study here), Aurora Diagnostics (case study here), Wildwood (case study here), Royal Brass and Hose (case study here),

  • Potential Issues:

There are some users who gave this app high marks, indicating that there are some use cases that it worked well for. But Map My Customer’s averages on review sites are dragged down by a lot of negative reviews with a specific set of complaints. There were complaints about sales reps losing the data they had saved in the app, routes being lost, and notes being lost. There were also complaints about the integrations to CRM systems and problems syncing data. For the mobile app there were many complaints around the app being hard to use and crashing. A lot of people complained that they couldn’t get their money back and weren’t able to quit when they could never get the app working for their team.

The ratings on the mobile app stores are lower than the other review sites like G2, indicating that mobile users are less satisfied than browser users. If you are planning on using this with a mobile team who will use it on their mobile devices, we recommend doing a trial to verify that the mobile apps will work well for you on the devices that you will use (as is always the case with all these companies if you are buying for a mobile team because some companies are much more browser focused and some are more native app focused and some do both).

There have been complaints of the integrations not working as advertised and customers still being charged for a pilot when the company couldn’t deliver what was promised on the integration. Here is a review describing that in detail, so be careful signing to pay for this until you have completed a functioning pilot (Note: that advice generally applies to every mapping software).

  • Potential Issues: This app has less functionality than some of the other competitors here, but also their price reflects that. Definitely try it out with your data before you purchase to make sure it works for you.
